Single fin placement

Hi guys I've got a 7'6" Alder mini mal with an fcs thruster set up and I would like to route in a new fin box for a single fin but have no idea about fin placement.

The measurements of the board are 7'6"~21 3/4" ~ 3".

Where is the best place for routing the fin?

Start off with the fin in the centre of the box. Move it forward if you want a 'looser' ride or backwards if you want a 'stiffer' ride according to taste and wave type/size.

Assuming that it's a 10" box you want to put in, route and install it so that it's 4-5 inches from the end of the tail, and then do what VillageIdiot suggests re. fin placement. Just check first that you can get away with that with the thickness of the board in the Tail.
