Thought after surfing for a while i'd know where to go in October / November to ride waves.

Done the usual Europe stops, Bali, Oz, Morocco, Mexico, Capetown..... I'm thinking Costa Rica/Sri Lanka this time round?

Would be nice to be able to kite surf as well. Thoughtsssss?

My approach these days is the following:

1) Time booked out in diary.
2) keep the destination unknown
3) 3 days before see where has a good forecast with multiple multiple days of good surf
4) Go where ever the surf is.

For me personally in this time period (Oct /Nov) my choice would be Scotland highlands and/or Islands... Or SW France.

Or a trip into Western Sahara if big swell.

This approach is obv more expensive but i have been on too many failed surf trips to care. I want to surf waves with low crowd so will pay for the convenience.

November is a good month for air travel, as many have to wait for the Christmas Mayhem, so good bargains to be had, what about Cuba,
Wet season is May-October, Nov to April clear skies and NE swells, 780 miles of North coast, Hurricane season usually Aug Sep, but can continue to October.
Emerging destination, loads of articles, but still very difficult for US citizens to travel, they can now go but have to have a License from the Dept of Treasury,
so few crowds, unlike may Caribbean destinations.

Barbados,
Trinidad and Tabago
BVI, expensive accomodation.

A mate stayed in one of this guys apartments last November

Had great waves on the south coast, usual Soup Bowls but got Maycocks good for a few days on the West Coast. Hired boards from him, the guy can surf, kite, windsurf, sup, and.......FOIL, so you could learn and piss everyone off on here.

If all else fails, Churchwood Valley Cabins.............for a month at Wembury

Thanks guys! I’ve got it sorted now. A stroke of luck and persistence paid off.

I’ll have to cut you in on the details in 2 weeks time if all goes to plan ;)
