I asked and got this:

Hi Phil,

Yes there was a problem with the forum, one of the database tables had crashed, to be honest this is very rarely monitored by the engineering team these days

Kind Regards
Dan

Yes well done Phil, amazed you did that!
Still lurking but not a lot to say except its no wonder I can hardly surf any more with the total lack of waves on offer. For us old gits it's crucial to keep going just to slow the decline and four surfs in four months isn't cutting the mustard!
Just one half decent surf and I'll be happy again! :-)

I've been in the water once this year, if that's any consolation. Fog and drizzle, and waves were slack and mushy, but I actually had a good session on the log, surfed much better than I hoped I would. First surf since turning 51 too.

I found the lockdown break gave me some enthusiasm back that I'd lost but also kookiness. Had four surfs since my last post although yesterday was just a paddlefest with no waves caught - just a shitload of unneeded exercise. Waves again today......

No exercise is unneeded. It's all good for you in the long run.
