my wife was born n grew up in half moon bay

we went there a few yrs ago....elt the loor shake 1/2 mile away on the cliff.

you have to bare in mind there are also some very very fat sharks around that reef.

i chatted to a chap who came paddling back in. met us on the beach...telling us about the day previous when a camera mounted on an 11ft board, filming ,was rolled on and bitten along with 2ft of board by a shark with a head the width of a vw beetle bonet

keep ya invite thanks.....

What's with the super guns?
Guys were paddling in on boards 2/3rds that length on THAT Cloudbreak session last June.

Pussies eh? I can't even see the feed, what were the waves like?

This swell was a total let-down here. Barely head high, 20 minute waits between sets, crowded because everyone thought it was going to be good. Only registered as 4 ft on the buoys, highest period I've ever seen on a wave buoy though, 21-23 seconds+. Spectral data from one buoy recorded it as 0.5 ft @ 28 seconds initially. I though 4 ft @ 20 seconds would be good, guess the swell is travelling deeper, so feels the continental shelf more here?

I had to turn it off because there were no waves during the 20mins I tuned in! Seeing Peter Mel getting nailed on a super late take-off was pretty intense though! I can only imagine how bad a wipe out like that could be.

If you haven't seen the Go Pro video of Mark Healley on that left, here it is. Its worth watching for his facial expressions only.

Surfing Mavericks while giving head to the invisible man is an impressive skill, well done that man!
