Lefty! i thought Steviesee was the entertainment manager

anyway, for those waking up in Europe its all over, it was moved to Kirra and Julian Wilson has a deserved win.

The rumour was that it was rushed through because of the upcoming Commonwealth games and i think its true, the other two rumours,
1. We would all be watching on Facekook, after the meeting with the WSL and Mr. Zuckercheeseberger and
2. The WSL is about to purchase Surfline, i don't think are.

What will be interesting IMO will be the event at Slaters surf ranch on Sep 5-9, they have already had a behind closed doors contest which Medina won but the judging criteria has yet to be decided. A lot of negative comments has followed all the articles i've read, but the focus will be on 'STYLE' and 'SKILL', rather than unpredictable variables like timing and wave selection, SO, could someone win that dared to ride something different, like that last years clip of Alex Knost riding that 6'9 x 18.5 with an 11 inch tail, a Kanaiaupuni template from 1969 but as a Bonzer with Malcolm Campbell shaping the concave and rails.....

ooh :blob4:

i dont get why it was rushed through due to these reasons though ?

1. why would they need to rush it through with over 2 weeks to go before that starts ?
2. ive heard about this meeting but... ?
3. that'll mean the WSL would own Magicseaweed too.... :sex:

I just think it was rushed through, the dates were 11-22, maybe it was the surf report but maybe the Council wanted it finished, or accomodation issues? Some of the athletes are staying as far north as the Sunshine coast.

as for 3. yep MSW..........maybe the WSL has hired the financial wizard from Surfstitch

Hope Bells is gigantic

Bells
$25 just to watch from the beach!
Will Parko and all the other Billabong team still be sponsored after yesterdays buy out of $208m (a lot less than quoted back in Jan) by Boardriders (Quiksilver)
and will it be all over by Easter Monday?

No need, but maybe growing up on the town beaches in HNL, it was the norm!
maybe a bit of green streak against JJ's quicker rise to the CT, house on the North Shore, Yacht etc,
interesting comment after one of the articles ' If it was done to Medina, we would be cheering, if it was done to St. Mick, he'd be going home in a body bag!!

I quite liked it. Livens it up a bit, and it's competitive so why not?

Bells is a pretty dull comp, so I'm all for a bit of hassling and backpaddling!

Italo Ferreira: "Two shark attacks in less than 24 hours here in Australia, detail, just a few miles from where the event is being held. Very dangerous do you not think? even so, they keep insisting on doing steps where the risk of having this type of accident is 90%, so I ask: is not the safety of athletes a priority? We already had several alerts. Life goes beyond that! I hope it does not happen to any of us. I do not feel comfortable training and competing in places like this!"

Looks like the CT will be in wave pools in a few years.

Medina and the Brazzos getting the blame, drum lines and the shark shield should have been deployed, with the lease running out next year Margs is finished on the CT.

Will Sophie call off the Oi Rio Pro if there are more than two muggings in the city?

A surfer should have got the job not an ex Rugby/basketball/tennis exec but with her lastest quote 'My time spent in Australia will help hone a worldwide marketing push', you can see why she was hired.
