Alright thanks for the reply, I assumed like everyone else Ireland is getting busier every year. Been a few years since I've been so toying with a trip sometime.

Am posting not because I had any kind of epic surf but because conditions were marginal, probably crap but in the water it felt a lot better. Had a few squirty cutbacks on one wave and finished the last with a flourish. Later going about my business I felt good just to have been in and got something from what appeared to be dross. And Phil take note, it was Friday evening the best time for a surf! :-)

Sorry fellas...Maroochydore (sunshine coast, Qld) 2-3' glassy with a light offshore. ESE swell producing left and right peaks with very rippable face.
Only fly in the ointment was 5 degrees celsius when I paddled outat 6.30am.
Did keep the crowd right down until 8am onwards but surfed my weasely black guts out with the forehand and backhand both getting a proper work out.
Only went in at 9.30am because I was too shagged to surf anymore.
It stayed offshore all day. :P

more fun waves at chunkers this morning, solid 3ft, tough paddle, few lumps coming through but lots of standard bunkers closeouts with no channel back out

Up at four with a bad back & even worse shoulder...a couple of ibru's & a can of torro rosso sorted that out...surfed 'h-bombs' on my own...overhead & clean but closing out...bloody tides are massive this week...a lot of water flowing about & the rips were horrendous...my choice of a 9'8 was a bit sketchy but had fun in the early sun.

Bunkers orgnised itself a bit better as it pushed up this morn, started running nice. Got about 8 good uns in the end. Had to get out a few times tho and paddle from the corner, long paddle but dry hair paddle out.

Good to surf with u last few days. Battered now, 3 surfs, 7 hours out of 18 hours! good warm up for 2 weeks in algarve from sunday. Cordama swell all nxt wk, Portugal's Coombsgate twin:-)

two surfs in the same week, what strange happenings for the east coast in june.
Had an ok one on Monday then driving up the A1 last night I stopped for a look and it was pumperama time - gutted not to have a board with me.

So got in this morning somewhere that looked ok and it was shite, so moved down the coast 2 miles and got a small handfull of good'uns at our premier surfing location :) Some good lumps coming through - indeed my single fin was getting a bit racy - got thouroughly bounced on my first wave - should have been on my afterbuner - and its not often I think that. Took a lovely late backhand drop on one to confirm entry to the stoke thread.

Still not bored of driving home in my wettie and straight in the shower.

You should have been an angel, it would've suited you
My deep blue walled up angel, she knows just what to do
In the half light of morning, in a world between two reefs
I swear I saw her angel wing, my vision was complete

And I know I'll never want another lover, my sweet
Can there be more in this world than the Joy of just watching you break?
I don't know just what to feel , Won't someone tell me my love's real?

Are we etched in stone or just scratched in the sand
Waiting for the waves to come and reclaim the land?
Will the sun shine all sweetness and light
Burn us to a cinder, our third stone satellite?
I'm on a longboard, baby, nine miles high
Screaming down the line, on my ribbon in the sky
I'm on a longboard, one thing I've found
I don't know how to stop, and it's a
Long, long, long, long way down

She's all that ever mattered, and all that ever will
My cup, it runneth over, I'll never get my fill
The boats in the harbour, slip from their chains
Head for new horizons, let's do the same
I'm on a longboard, baby, nine miles high
Screaming down the line, on my ribbon in the sky

Coupla phone pics from the Algarve.

Stiff east winds have been holding up good quality swell waves on the west coast

Image

and also providing a few waves at Praia da Luz beach and points, good fun for a warm down on a 6' zippy Luke Short Cult fish

Image

aching body from the last 6 days

saw a few cars headed down Zavial which I expect would have been ok on the east swell

Pool cleaning: harder than it looks. Got given one a few weeks ago - backyard job made by a lad in Tmouth - it's knackered and held together with car bodge but I love it.
Being getting in loads when I just wouldn't have otherwise: days like today just paddling round to Eddies / Cullercoats, then days when there's a shitty little wave you wouldn't bother with on a log and having a blast.
Try it again when there's a little swell you'll love it

Down in West Wales on Saturday with lovely 2ft righthanders peeling the width of the beach. Crystal clear water, surfing in boardies, only sharing it with a couple of jelly fish and must've got close to 15 waves in little over an hour. Still stoked today, which is just as well as it looks a little while before anything else will be coming this way!
