umbrella companies

Any self employed contractors on here using umbrella companies?

Which one do you use or think is best?

I currently use sprite services, but wondering if there is a better company out there to use.

Why have an umbrella company?

Set up your own ltd and get a good accountant.

Umbrella just seems an easy option as only just gone self employed, pay a weekly fee, send expenses weekly they do some fiddling and i get my taxes back weekly too. A couple guys i am working with have setup a 'ltd' and get an accountant, however just seems like a lot more hassle to me.

Nit sure ehat you do...but An accountant will charge you 250 and you get a personal service with proper face to face advice... And he might have a fit daugher

I don't use these guys, http://www.paystream.co.uk/ I have a "proper" face to face accountant.

However, my girlfriend who has started contracting in IT recently does and she is happy enough with them.

They do umbrella and ltd company routes.

My advice would be do the ltd company with them, get the jist of how it all works then find a decent accountant. I can pass you on to mine if you like. PM if so.
