Sudden changes is swell direction on MSW forecast

I have noticed how this happens sometimes and wondered why? Is this because the dominant swell for that area is all that gets shown on the report?

Look at the change from Tues to Weds for example?

that forecast just shows the dominant swell (swell with the largest height), so when the s windswell has a larger height than the n groundswell that is what will be shown. the groundswell will still be there though, and shows up on spectrals etc.

use the east coast england spectrals, its all done for a bouy out in the north sea thats closer to scotland anyway. [/quote]
