Aye is a 4/3, actually i probs could have gotten away without the hood but it's a bloody long way back to the car if you get in and find it's too cold so I thought I would hedge my bets, then when I thought I would just pull it off the back of my head and leave it round my neck I found it was restricting the blood flow to my brain and I only like to do that in controlled situations when tied to a door knob....

Actually ended up getting out when I got cramp in the inside of my legs which usually only happens when my wetty is too thin and I get cold So maybe a week or two more before going without hood and gloves and getting the 3mm boots on!

My pants are brown just looking at it. Looks like one of those moments when you've got half a second to decide whether to pull up and under and hope for the best or pull the eject and wonder what could have been. Looks amazing. Sessions to never forget.

Some guys were all over it though. There was a guy from Constantine called John Eldridge (I think) who must have had a couple of dozen really deep barrels and a smattering of Ozzie/Saffa/South American guys who were in their element.

You can see the wobble in the pic. I know how difficult that makes it, I might not have paddled out (EDIT: Thinking back, I almost certainly would have had a bintang and got the camera out instead, making some excuse to myself about a 6'8 not being anywhere near big enough), you need serious balls to pull in when you are only 20% confident of making it... Did it not clean up later on? When I was there it was always wobbly as hell in the morning before the trades kicked up in the afternoon. But the mornings were empty.

I was only there three days and it was a real southerly swell with south winds the whole time...

Kongs looked gigantic, Moneys was a big sloppy mess and the only defined part of the reef was Launching Pad and Speedies.

It was a shame it never really blew proper offshore as I think it would straightened it out a bit and made it more user-friendly.

Still an awesome place though.

it looks so easy to surf from land ...did you go just to G land or did you go elsewhere before hand?...seeing pics like that has me buzzing for some proper north sea grunt and a bit of man the fuck up and surf the reefs

no, full hd version, frame grab from movie with a free trial of the sony programe. I think its got compressed with upload, had the same issue uploading video onto you tube, got some brilliant fishing footage, so detailed on my computer but not when its youtube.

That's odd about youtube because when I put gopro video on there it comes up with every quality option including "Original" quality which is probably what it says. It takes a while to do all the conversions so you may have to wait to get all the different quality options.

Good effort btw - looks like the wrist mount works.
