Yes, I crank mine on with a screwdriver so its fully tilted back, still ends up facing the deck occasionally, just push it back into position.

I can judge more or less the optimum angle for mine and check and readjust it if necessary. Just slip a small plastic protractor up your sleeve!

Had another attempt on sunday.. seem to have missed the board this time but getting there!! sure i'll post somne egotistica frame grabs later

Its so much more reliable using it on the on board option, but it makes the waves look so small and flat, think that it probably needs to be at least 5ft and with good shape before it looked decent!

Did you get a helmet mount in the pack? Its the one that's like the board mount but a bit higher, doesn't need the little white plug bit in the clip, it's a couple of inches higher than the normal board mount and helps reduce the "tilted" perspective that makes the waves look smaller than they really are!

The trade off is that it's harder to get all of the surfer in the shot, can counter that by making sure you are on 4:3 aspect ratio though!

Nah didnt get one of those but its a good idea! Mind you I've just had it on the wide angle setting as I figured that was best, i'll play around with different settings next time!

I think it could be the player interpolating the frames to try make a smoother video. On mine I don't remember seeing it with VLC player but noticed it with UMplayer. There may be a setting to turn it on/off.
