My new winter suit has very thick rubber in the legs, its not helping. I've had a painful back for about a month, that's not helping. Think I may have a hernia (or a pulled muscle), that's definitely not helping. Also my good shoulder isn't too good! My moaning is improving though!!!!

In that vein............

Couple in their nineties are both having problems remembering things.

During a check-up, the doctor tells them that they're physically okay, but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember ....
Later that night, while watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair. 'Want anything while I'm in the kitchen?' he asks.
'Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?'
'Sure.'
'Don't you think you should write it down so you can remember it?' she asks.
'No, I can remember it.'
'Well, I'd like some strawberries on top, too. Maybe you should write it down, so as not to forget it?'
He says, 'I can remember that. You want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries.'
'I'd also like whipped cream. I'm certain you'll forget that, write it down?' she asks..
Irritated, he says, 'I don't need to write it down, I can remember it! Ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream - I got it, for goodness sake!'
Then he toddles into the kitchen. After about 20 minutes, the old man returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs. She stares at the plate for a moment.

Thanks for the kind comments. I usually throw in a few karate moves just to add spice to my wave-riding
It was a good wave and there are more shots in the sequence. The photos show it to be more hollow than I was aware of at the time. Its a bitter sweet experience in some ways as I see an old git in the pictures and that's not whats in my head at the time!

Personally, I think the vast majority of Go-Pro pics are crap. The above photo actually has some good points: composition, action, colour.

I am old fashioned and honestly don't get it, fixing a camera to your board to get a blurry, face gurning snap does nowt for me, sorry if that doesn't sit well with the masses.

This summer I watched groups of Dutch surfers with them. They were fiddling with them all the time, turning them on and off, adjusting etc. It must detract from the flow of enjoying a good surf.

Just my opinion here, feel free to prove me wrong.

You know it's weird, I have made quite a few GoPro vids, I was always stoked with them when I made them but looking back now I see the stoke was relative to the technology level at the time, as GoPros have gotten better, my vids have started to look worse in quality and I think detracts from the enjoyment a bit, except maybe the ones where I am clearly smiling my face off!

I've not bothered usin it for quite a few sessions over the last 6 months, been looking for new angles and ways to wear the camera, working on something more handheld for my longboard but haven't had the right waves lately and haven't quite finished the way to hold it when I am paddling. It's alright for Kelly et al who just get given a new one if they lose their brand new GoPro3 Black, I have to save my pennies and so I need something robust to make sure I don't lose it!

Hopefully will have something good in the new year though! There seem to be a lot more people in the water with them as well now, lots of whom don't seem to be good enough at sitting on their boards to be thinking about cameras and shiz as well, maybe I missed something but I don't like to be labelled with them if I am surfing but I guess your style and ability speaks for itself!

Saying that, if I lived at G-land, Puerto or Tahiti, I may be tempted.

I like the gopro pics, yes I have a number of pics almost the same as Bakers (but that is the reality and once upon a time shots like that were revolutionary) and I perfer the original rather than some "antiquated" version. Its not like anyone is saying theres any artistic merit in them, they are just a record. Even professional photogs shots are mostly the same. Go on Bakers, post some more pics of yourself surfing in the "post pics of you surfing" thread!

yeah you are right, your quite limited to the photos you can take with it.
been missing most of the swell lately, working 12 hour days for the majority of christmas, dont even get to see the sunlight let alone the surf!
