I needed a DJ name, was playing in Manchester around 94-96. We had a regular Thursday before Justin Robertson's Sleuth night. My mate used to call me "Bullitt" because as he said, every time he had been in my house I was watching Bullitt. He'd been round once. "Yeah, and you were watching Bullitt"....

Then we wanted some kind of Balearic theme, so both dressed up as pilots and played behind the decks. Was fun.

Used to sing this in my band called Virus   30 years ago WTF ..............

Warsaw (who became Joy Division ) - They Walked in Line

All dressed in uniforms so fine,
They drank and killed to pass the time,
Wearing the shame of all their crimes,
With measured steps, they walked in line.
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line.
They carried pictures of their wives,
And numbered tags to prove their lives,
And made it through the whole machine,
With dirty hearts and hands washed clean.
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line.
Full of a glory never seen,
They made it through the whole machine,
To never question anymore,
Hypnotic trance, they never saw,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
They walked in line,
Walked in line,

You've got to hold and give but do it at the right time
You can be slow or fast but you must get to the line
They'll always hit you and hurt you, defend and attack
There's only one way to beat them, get round the back
Catch me if you can cos I'm the England man
And what you're looking at is the master plan
We ain't no hooligans, this ain't no football song
Three lions on my chest, I know we can't go wrong

Stiff Little Fingers last night in Glasgow's east end at Barrowlands - 24th year in a row they've played St.Patrick's day in Glasgow. The usual 2 hours of shirt off mayhem.

Sade - Diamond Life
Put the mouldy 30 year old vinyl on the turntable, crackle crackle, bollocks thats no good. Took it to the sink (on the wife's insistence as I said this needs washing) n scrubbed with the washing up sponge and dried off with a big bath towel, put back on the turntable - sorted and a bit of water wouldn't dislodge a label thats been there decades would it. Still can't believe how alive these old vinyl records sound. I'm not a hipster (had some original hipsters and you don't actually know what they were do you???)) retro dude but I'm loving the old vinyl even though its going via usb to my speakers!!!
Can't fault Sade!

Today's 'pick of the pops' is from Love - Forever Changes - only 48 years old, holy sh*t!!!!
Its a classic and always high in the polls of top all time albums, yes its an American group but I forgive them as I always thought they were British!

I've given it a few listens in the past, and apart from Alone Again Or, I found the whole thing pretty underwhelming.
