Winter trip advice

Postby Leven » Mon Nov 20, 2017 7:25 pm

So thinking of a winter trip, probably Feb or March next year.

Criteria:

Warm
Hollow (but not death slabs, although I don't mind a few close outs)
Uncrowded
Chilled/Relaxed vibe
No more than a days flying from the UK

Only place I can think of is Mexico....any other suggestions?

Dominican Republic is an excellent option - cheap and direct flights from Europe and lots of different breaks on the north coast - there are hollow reef and point breaks and a softer wave that is good for all levels at Playa Encuentro.

I'm in the same boat as you, though looking to travel in late Jan.

I have my eye on Nicaragua, Costa Rica, or possibly Ecuador or northern Peru (goofy foot).

Best of luck!
